老鷹合唱團成立於1971年,最早他們的音樂風格走的是鄉村搖滾,後來隨著樂隊人員的變動,樂隊的風格也開始向純搖滾轉變。期間,老鷹發行了他們大部分的專輯,也獲得了無數的獎項和榮譽。但是由於樂隊成員矛盾等原因,老鷹合唱團於1980年解散,並一直持續了14年之久。1994年,樂隊重新組合,發行了Hell Freezes Over。
